Santa Was Glamping

 "Glamping"--Putting Glamor into Camping

We found Santa yesterday, glamping at Old Timer's Antique Mall in Dexter, MO. Let me tell you, he was glamping in style. . . .

If you're familiar with Mary Jane's Farm magazine, website, or books, then you probably know what glamping is all about. . . .The word is one of Mary Jane's pet concepts--rugged and really pretty, grit and glamor--all at the same time.

There's a growing movement for glamping. Women everywhere are snatching up these older trailers and fixing them for their own fun experiences camping. There are clubs, too, traveling together across the country or meeting somewhere for a weekend of  glamping with friends.

I've read about them and have to be honest here--I've been looking for my own trailer to restore in farmhouse style and glamp around the country in. That's why I squealed in delight when I spotted this sweet, little trailer at Old Timer's. It belongs to the owner--but not for sale. . . .Shoot!. . .
She's looking for more trailers to repair and glamorize. Those WILL be for sale. . . .

On the other hand, I think it would be great fun to decorate my own. I have my eye on an Airstream. . . .but, that's another story. . . .

I could definitely enjoy a few outings in a trailer like this. . . .

Come on inside. . . .

The first thing you see is the table area that lets down into a bed. . . . I'm not a big cowboy fan for myself, but I have to admit, this was cute. . . .

Looks like Santa has a little "Cowboy" in him, though. . . .

and, Mrs. Clause, too. . . .

There were touches of a Glamping Christmas everywhere. . . .

Two bunks were in back--the lower was another sitting area. . . .with a Santa quilt, and. . . .

a snowman. . . .

Santa's trailer will be sitting at Old Timer's Antique Mall at least through the first of the year--and maybe all winter long. . . .Go by and visit if you're in the area. . . .It's open everyday. . . .

Me? I'm checking on that Airstream this week! A Plain and Simple Farmhouse style glamper. . . .Has a ring to it, don't you think?

In the words of Cowboy Santa. . . . .
Happy Holidays, Y'all !!!!

Hi Dru. What a wonderful way of life. I have the nice motorhome, but it just can't look the same as one of those old trailers. So cute and what fun to fix one up. Hope you have luck with your Airstream. Sounds just about perfect for a farmhouse style of Glamping..Hope you are having a great weekend..Judy

It looks like a riot! It's just like fixing up a doll house and what fun to go camping with a club of girls.
