Welcome to Country
Whites Weekend!
It’s plain and simple
and oh, so sweet.
Embrace your country
whites and share them here!
Inspire us. Take us
home. Fill us with country charm.
Good Morning, Everyone!
The old Rooster just crowed. . . .
It's a brand new day. . . .and a brand new party!
Grab your coffee--or tea--and join us!
I don't know about you but my day doesn't start without a good cup of coffee. . .
I admit, John totally spoils me every morning. . . .He's up way before sunrise--making sure the coffee is hot and ready when my feet hit the floor. . . .
I try to keep him happy, too, with special treats every now and then. . . .
This morning I brought out Butterscotch Scones. . . .
Afterall, what's a party without something good and sweet and homemade?
He loves his scones heated and spread with homemade butter. . . .
(Calories aren't a worry for him, Ladies)
I use a basic, easy recipe from my Great Aunt Emma--
adding in John's choice of raisins, pecans, coconut,
adding in John's choice of raisins, pecans, coconut,
chocolate chips, butterscotch pieces, white chocolate,
dried cranberries, or whatever is on hand.
For this morning, he chose butterscotch chips--says they're "wonderful"--
and insists that I share the recipe with you.
So, here it is, compliments of John and Aunt Emma. . .
It's "lovin' from the oven. . ."

Add to flour mixture and mix just until the flour mixture is moist.
Add 1 cup--your choice-- raisins, currants, pecans,
dried coconut, dried apples, candied fruit, chocolate chips,
butterscotch pieces, or white chocolate, or what's on hand.

Thanks for hosting, I will be back later to see all the links:)
I finally have something white to link up. Thanks for hosting!
Hi Dru, This is the perfect whites post for today. I just got my cup of coffee and ready to party. Wait, I can't reach your sconces. Oh now!!!
Thank you for sharing the recipe and inspiring us with your great pics.
Thank you for joint hosting. Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
I meant, oh no~~ LOL
Are you waking up to Folgers in your cup? lol! You know that's how I chose the title of my blog. I just adored that Swedish Mrs. Olson that did the Folgers commercials. And my initials do just happen to be J.O. (cup of JO)
Ha, ha, too bad I don't drink coffee. Seriously, hard to believe with the name I chose. But I do love me a little sweet for breakfast. Today I am having a left over luschious lemon pastry I made for Valentines Day. Good thing I don't have sweets for breakfast every morning or I'd be one big mama! As always Dru, adore your farmhouse whites! I love scones so I will be pinning your recipe. Have a great day on the farm!
hugs,
Jann
Morning, Dru! Happy Country Whites Weekend, my friend! Hmmm...is that a cute baking center I see? Looks like what I have envisioned. Talk to you soon.
Farmhouse hugs,
Cindy
I'm here with my cup of coffee to enjoy the party. Unfortunately, none of those scrumptious looking scones are showing up in my kitchen.
Thanks for hosting, Dru.

Dru, Thank you for the invite to Country White Weekend. I just love reading your blog and have adding you to my reading list. Please keep the great posts coming. Coffee and scones are a great way to get the morning started. Yum, thank you!

Hi Dru...I love your glass jars in your baking center. I just got rid of my red canisters and purchased glass ones with tin lids. Love them. By seeing the flour and sugar...it gave me more white in the kitchen and the glass jars just say country farmhouse in the kitchen.
hugs,
Cindy
Love your farmhouse style! Thanks for hosting.

I lvoe your photos! The old perculator just like my parents had, the enamel bowl, flour sifter, all things I grew up watching my mom and grandma use! The scones sound wonderful! I love having quiet coffee moments with my husband. It's our time and we cherish it (even if sometimes we have to go out for coffee and hide in the car to get some alone time LOL) It's the best! Thank you for sharing your recipe! I wish I had something white to post about and link up. I'll have to work on that :) Have a great weekend! Hugs, Leena

I don't have anything to link up this weekend, but wanted to stop by. I love your sweet, simple glass cannisters with the scoops inside. Thanks for sharing the scones recipe as well. I do bake on occasion so I'll have to try these!

Thank you for hosting....I always enjoy looking at your photos!
Everything is so beautiful! Thank you for the delicious scones recipe. When Prince William and Kate got married, my oldest daughter came over at 4:30 in the morning and I made scones and hot tea for us to watch the wedding. We would have dressed up but it was way to early!
