Candlelight for the Winter Bedroom

My bedroom is 'snuggle-licious' in winter. . .For me that means plenty of quilts, comforters, and throws. . .pillows, pillows, pillows. . .books. . .candles. . .and a hint of 'snow'. . .

Ever since I was young, I have loved SNOW. . .In the early years I wanted to be outside playing in it, but now I am content with a short trek across the farm. . .me and my camera. . . and then back to the house to enjoy the white scene through the windows. . .Everything looks better in the snow. . .and I feel that my bedroom is the same. . .so I decorate it in WHITES with only pops of color. . .

This year, I decided I wanted candles, too. . .Lots of CANDLES. . .almost like a mini fireplace on a stick. . .SNOW. . .FIRE. . .WARMTH under my comforter. . .What could be better for a cold winter's day?

So after a stroll around the WINTER farm. . .and a long, hot bath in the QUIET of the day. . .you'll find me cuddled up in the WINTER bedroom. . .with my books and writings. . .and I may stay there until I see the first jonquil bloom. . .(a wink and a grin). . .

January Candles

Does anyone need to be told “It's WINTER?” Even in the South, we are feeling a little chilly as frost appears each morning outside the window. . .or an occasional snowflake falls from the gray sky. . .We close the shutters and drapes to ward off as much 'cold' as we can. . .It's in WINTER, when the rooms are filled with very little sunlight, bringing a kind of calm and peace to the atmosphere. . .that I find myself decorating less, but always with candles. . .

Being a Farmer's Daughter, I am no stranger to a restful WINTER. . .Once the harvest is finished in the fall. . .and the Christmas holidays are over. . .there just isn't much else to do but snuggle down for a long winter's rest. . .before the SPRING ground warms enough to start planting. . .and another year on the farm begins. . .

But until then, I'll enjoy being in. . .where it's warm. . .and cozy. . .but I will
keep my Candles burning. . .knowing that Spring is right around the corner. . .

. . .from my farmhouse to yours. . .
