Recipe for Easy Kraut Salad

As promised, here's Mom's recipe that won John's heart--or tummy--or both--

Easy Kraut Salad
2 cups kraut, drained
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1/2  large green pepper, chopped
1/2 red pepper, chopped Or 1 T. pimento
 1/2 cup celery

In a separate bowl or Pyrex measuring cup, mix together
1/4 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons vinegar
Microwave or Heat just til sugar melts
and the liquid is clear and hot. . .

Pour dressing over veggies and mix well.
Refrigerate, stirring once or twice--

Serve as a side dish OR on sandwiches.

 Simple and Delicious. . . .

Thanks you for the recipe! I LOVE sauerkraut and it is so healthy for you too! Have you ever heard of Mary Jane's Farm? I get her magazine and posted about it yesterday. Take a look on my blog and you can see if it might be up your alley. I love it and she has a website and chat room and The Farmgirl Sisterhood. My blog is www.farmgirlsam.blogspot.com and I live in Horseshoe Bend, AR. I love your history and what you're doing to preserve it. I bet Mary Jane would be interested too! Have a great day and stay cool!

We still make our own sauerkraut and have looked for this salad recipe forever!! My grandma use to make this and it'll be fun to take to our family reunion!! When making our kraut we do it the really old fashioned way using the crock...thanks for posting this...I know it's an older one but..
