Norma's First Rag Rug Reveal

Norma is the blogger today! In her own words. . . .

"Here is my first rug!  I am not sure I can allow anyone to wipe their feet on it though!  My granddaughter Amelia, age 5, thought it was the most fun and has helped me along the way in making this one."

". . . . Starting another one right away.  Do let me know when you put it on your blog, would love to see the reactions. I am having fun with it and tearing up all kinds of fabric."

So, everyone. . . .what do you think?

  1. That has to be one of the most therapeutic crafts. Imagine sitting near the fireplace during the winter months finding pleasure weaving away to create beautiful rugs. Norma's rugs look wonderful.

  3. So very colorful!
That is the nicest thing about making one's own crafts/furnishings, you can make what ever color you want!! And not be stuck with the "in" color or the left-over on sale colors.
    Great job!!

  8. Oh Norma, your rug is beautiful.

I am so glad I saw this post. I had wanted to purchased the loom, but totally forgot. Just purchased, so now I can go though my embarrassingly large stash and make some Christmas gifts.

  11. I knew it was easy to make these rugs, but your 5 year old grandchild can do it? That's wonderful! It will be something you two will share memories of for years to come. Let us see your next one, too!!!!!

  12. Hello, I am just starting to make rag rugs and loving every minute of it, however both of my rugs tend to pull it at the middle creating a "waist" effect despite using the rods along the side. The rug looks square when I am weaving, but shrinks in the middle when I pull it off the loom. Also my corners tend to curl up... any suggestions? Thank you.
