Remember Summer?

The WARM breezes. . .splashes of COLOR in the FLOWER beds and fields. . .
WEEDS. . .
Walking at dusk in FLIP-FLOPS. . .
Drinking ICE TEA IN A JAR to cool off during a hot and humid day. . .
Rocking on the FARMHOUSE PORCH.

Seems so long ago now that our COLD WEATHER has set in for the WINTER. . .
Wind chill: 9 degrees
And yet. . .I brought indoors today a reminder that SUMMER WILL  come again. . .
My treasured GERANIUMS always make me feel WARMER. . .HAPPIER. . .and change a dull Winter's day into something MAGICAL. . .They make me SMILE. . .and forget the cold dreary outdoors.

How about you?
Need a SMILE and a PROMISE OF SUMMER?

Thought I'd SHARE mine with you. . .maybe CHEER your day.

. . .from my farmhouse to yours. . .

  2. This post made me smile for sure especially with your beautiful geraniums and talk of summer memories. Thanks!! It is cold and white here so the shot of colour is good. Have a great week.

  3. Lovely! I have some forced narcissus bulbs in bloom and the amaryllis opened today. Those little splashes of color makes such a difference.

  4. No, I am not sure if I remember summer! The temperature is -3 with a wind chill of -24! Kind of hard to remember that one actually sweats. I currently have two shirts, a sweater, a goose down vest, a cowl, wool knee socks and boots on!

Thanks for the reminder that warmth will be here again and green things will grow!

  5. It's been -20 here,(and that's the temp, won't even tell you what the wind chill is!!) so anything that is blooming looks great!

    Summer........please come.

  7. Loved your post today. Lovely pictures. Geraniums have always a favorite of mine. My grandmother had a small enclosed back porch filled with red geraniums and Christmas cactus. They would fill the room with blooms in the winter. It's minus 17 windchill here today so this really brought a smile to my face this morning. Have a blessed day.
