Country Whites Weekend #1--A Farmhouse White Christmas

Happy Holidays, Everyone!
and
Welcome to Country Whites Weekend!
It’s plain and simple and oh, so sweet.
Embrace your country whites and share them here!
Inspire us. Take us home. Fill us with country charm. . . .

Looks like many of you have SNOW for inspiration!!!
How perfect for our first Country Whites Weekend. . . .

It's certainly feeling like a White Christmas here in the South--even though there's no white stuff falling. . . .This morning Santa Honey has the fireplace blazing, there's cookies baking in the oven, Christmas music is playing in the background, and I'm turning our home into a Farmhouse White Christmas--Inside. . . .So much more fun than being out in the cold. . . .

And, cold it is out there. . . .the winds are howling. . . .makes me shiver just to hear it. . . .Jack Frost is certainly nipping at the nose today. . . .

Thank goodness, it's warm and comfy by the fire. . . .Right, Boo?

I wanted to do something special for our first Country Whites Weekend. . . .
but, I'm much more excited about seeing your posts and being inspired by each of you. . . .so, I'll just share a little about how--slowly but surely--this Farmhouse White Christmas is coming together. . . .

Just like my farmhouse style, our Christmases are pretty plain and simple. . . .

Yet, always with a pop of color. . . .

I may have too much color here to qualify for Country Whites Weekend. . . .
but, hey--it's Christmas! Maybe Cindy will be forgiving. . . .That's my Dad in the overalls--so cute. . . .

Inspiration for the Christmas table came from the bundle of Rosemary that Santa Honey brought in this week. . . .Rosemary means "Remembrance". . . .I think Santa Honey had a different idea, as in Rosemary Chicken--but I put it to work by setting a remembrance table. . . .A farmhouse Christmas is a farmhouse full of family. . . .

Home--Hearth--Family--That's our Farmhouse White Christmas. . . .
plain and simple as can be. . . .

Now, let's get busy and have a party!
Cindy says we're having an adventure. . . .

And, we want you to join us!

As with anything, there's do's and don'ts. . . . .
but we tried to keep it simple. . . .

I love your table and the creative way you have made it into a remembrance setting. Love this idea.
It is cold here too in Texas and now it is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. What a dear pic of your dad in the background with the poinsettia.
You have created a beautiful Christmas setting and I love your whites. Sparkly snowflakes on the table are so pretty.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and many blessings in the New Year.
    Hugs, Celestina Marie

  2. One things for sure, vintage and whites photograph so well. Maybe because in the olden days all photos were black and white.
I'm linking up some winter white, snow, and we have plenty more where that came from!

  10. Your farmhouse is always so beautiful Dru... love Boo by the fire, and the precious photo of your daddy... I honestly did not have enough whites to link... my farmhouse is full of color... like my mama's, my grandmothers, and my great~grandmothers were... except for Tessy... my sweet English Pointer who is mostly white... and she was shy about linking!... Merry Christmas to you!... xoxo Julie Marie

  12. Merry Christmas, Dru!
I love your beautiful blog and consider it one of my very favorites. How I would love to visit your Country Farmhouse in person. You are not only an incredible decorator but an accomplished historian. I'm transported each time I visit to a time that things were simpler. My Grama always shared stories of her pioneer Mama and Grandma. She would have loved your home!
    Blessings, my dear friend.

Oh...I hope I'm not in trouble for sharing so much color...To compensate for all my red it's snowing pretty WHITE stuff at this very moment. ;-)

  14. Merry Christmas Dru! I am so glad to join you and Cindy for this adventure. I am transported back to my Great-grandfather's farmhouse when I see your tablescape. We spent every Christmas eve there till I was in my teens. They also set the Christmas breakfast table with those very glasses you have on your table. I gasped when I saw them. Here is a post I wrote about the houses that influenced me growing up and my Great-grandfather's house is in this post. Sadly it is now falling down. We had so many fond Christmas memories in this house. I love visiting yours it really takes me back.:)

  15. Oh, the lovely BOO is just marvelous!! I am always amazed at how folks like you can take the ordinary things of living and display them so that they achieve decor status. It's an art. And I think I don't have it. (sigh)
