Wish I'd taken a "before" photo so you could see just how dirty, stained, and awful these gloves looked when I brought them home from an auction.
It was one of those bid-on-the-entire-box kind of things.
Once I got them home, I almost wished I hadn't bid at all. . .
Besides looking bad, these gloves smelled of mold and mildew.
What was I to do?
Not being a person who gives up on anything vintage,
I pulled out the Biz for an overnight soak.
And, just look how white they came out. . .
I was so surprised.
Hanging them to dry on the clothesline took out that moldy odor.
They look and smell like new.
I'm sold on Biz. . .

ReplyDeleteI've never tried Biz before. My method it a lot more involved. I do a soak and wash with vinegar. Then I do a soak and wash with baking soda. And last, I do a regular wash.
ReplyDeleteI use 20 Mule Team Borax and sometimes vinegar, too. Soak overnight, then wash with Tide.

ReplyDeleteI had a chuckle when I read that line; it was as if you were doing a commercial. You can really tell how well a product works by someones genuine enthusiasm over the results.
I generally use 20 Mule Team Borax---didn't even think of using Biz. Guess I didn't think they still made it!

I use oxi-clean but my Grandmother always used Biz...I ought to try it again and I think I have some. The gloves look great!

ReplyDeleteUse for old tablecloths, linens etc...great success.
ReplyDeleteFill washer with hot water,add 1 cap Tide with bleach alternative, 3/4 c hydrogen peroxide, 3/4 c Cascade dishwasher powder. Soak all night, run thru the rest of washer cycle. Rinse again if desired.
