The Art of. . .

I've hung up the APRONS. . .everyday ragged ones and SUNDAY BEST. . .
There won't be much work going on around here. . .
at least not for today. . .

My INSPIRATION came from a moment of SUN. . .
shining through the window. . . highlighting the BEAUTY of those VINTAGE APRONS. . .
as if they were saying,  'We'll just hang around here for the day.'

I didn't argue. . .I've hardly had time to breathe during and after the holidays. . .
realizing I need a little 'ME' TIME. . .
and immediately thinking about a card I received yesterday. . .
 sent by a DEAR FRIEND:

'You are the only one of YOU that you'll ever get.
Be GOOD to you. . .Be MERCIFUL. . .
Be KIND. . .and Be GRATEFUL'

Thus resolving my dilemma of what to do.

TODAY I WILL PERFECT THE ART OF DOING NOTHING. . .

IT TAKES PRACTICE. . .
and practice I will. . .(smile)

. . .from my farmhouse to yours. . .

Good for you! I finally did that Monday (my birthday) but I still made a dinner and dessert. But I find that I enjoy so many tasks now that I am retired and don't have to rush. Just being able to enjoy each task and not have to push myself like I used to plus I no longer have to set an alarm, I just sleep until I am rested. I must admit though I'm not keeping up with housework like I used to! LOL! Enjoy your day whatever you do or don't do and the best of 2016 to you and yours.

Good for you. I should learn to do that more too. Your vintage aprons are beautiful.

Of course love the aprons! Everyone needs a break. While I visited my sister last week, I got to "perfect the art of doing nothing"! Savor every moment!

I love vintage aprons and even new ones--
I had to part with most of my old ones when moving from NY to Florida in Sept--so now will have to watch for some new ones in the thrift stores to replace them or make me some new/old ones!!
love, di

Beautiful aprons!! We all need to just do nothing every now and then. It has been awhile since I visited you here at your blog. We had 2 aunts pass away and also my best friend last year...and I just needed some time to heal my broken heart. Hope to be blogging more this year.
hugs,
Cindy

A day without work is what the Lord intended! It's hard to keep that practice sometimes! Love the photos and wish I had those gorgeous aprons! :)
